College Admissions Essay Lab

Learn how to tell your story. This 2-session course is designed to walk students through the fundamentals of crafting an outstanding personal essay/statement. Each course session is capped at 8 students to allow for maximum focus and individual feedback.

Part 1: Finding Your Story

This session explores the fundamentals of shaping a narrative, identifying ways to connect personal experience with educational goals, and how to outline your structure. Participants will write a draft between sessions based on the information covered here and received individual feedback before Part 2.

Part 2: Shaping Your Story

This follow-up session focuses on strengthening your individual voice and making sure that your essay sounds like you. In an age of artificially generated content, it’s more critical than ever to know how to communicate. We’ll also focus on tightening your narrative and helping you understand how it all ties together.
